The Dead Teenagers Society, 29 in five months

Twenty nine teenagers have been murdered on Britain's streets in the first five months of 2008, mostly by people of a similar age. The latest victim, in Sidcup last night, has been named locally as Rob Knox, an aspiring actor.

Interestingly, the odds of a murdered teenager being non-white are at least 50% - significantly more than the percentage of non-white teenagers in society as a whole. The average age overall is 17.
