Jupiter, Mars and Venus in one night

A few nights ago I managed to get Jupiter, Mars and Venus all in one evening. The pictures below show them at their 'absolute' sizes as seen on the night. However, whereas Venus is about the same size as the Earth, Mars is smaller, whereas Jupiter is a gas-giant, very much bigger than any of them.

Reminds me of Father Ted explaining to Fr Dougal: "This cow is smaller, that one is further away. Smaller ... further away."

  3. Good. I always view the images with fascination.

I like the fact that you're an amateur in your back garden; makes it feel like discovering with you.....
