The Royal Naval College before Canary Wharf

 

Just by way of a change - this is a picture I took in the early 1980s looking down from the Royal Observatory towards Queen Anne's Palace, behind which is the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Today, you're looking at a bunch of high rise buildings, so I'm rather sentimental about this view, which takes me back to childhood.

    I was the lead planning solicitor on the Canary Wharf planning applications. I'll show you the photos we did for the applications one day (including the banana walls).

    I sympathise. It is a lovely view and like so many others has been wiped off the face of the map by so-called progress.
