A joint statement by Church of England Traditionalists for this time of crisis in the Anglican Communion

No, there isn’t one yet. But shouldn’t there be? And shouldn’t it be signed by Traditionalist Anglican Bishops, representatives of Anglican Mainstream, the Church of England Evangelical Council, FCA, Forward in Faith, Fulcrum, New Wine and Reform, patronage bodies and Principals of Theological Colleges?

So who is going to organize it?

  1. how about Peter Ould? I think he covers most of the bases except for the theological colleges. There should be a statement (Ephesians 2, 14-22)

  2. Looks like you got yourself a job, John!

You know, it strikes me that the Fulcrum/Reform division is as much cultural and personal as it is meaningfully theological (though it is that too). Is that a fair call? A big personality like NTW, for example, is bound to have his fans AND his detractors. He will be loved and loathed in equal measure.

  3. As Michael suggests, why don't you organise it and draft the statement? But keep to the matters which all these people can agree on, e.g. that it is time to say "enough is enough" to TEC, and keep off the divisive ones among evangelicals such as women priests and bishops.

  4. Fr. Richardson,
Greetings in Christ, that Most Holy Name above all the rest.

What has happened this day in Episcopal Church-USA is unacceptable, much less unforgivable.

The liberals in that church are so narrow minded, one sided, and hell bent on having their own way, they did not stop to think of how their demonic actions will effect the rest of the Christian Churches. Yes what ECUSA has done will effect the rest of us. They do not
give a tinker's damn about the rest of us.

I was going to come out with our official statement on the matter. But after having read The Rt. Rev. N. T. Wright's great article on the matter of what ECUSA as done. So I give credence and approve his statement because he hits it right on target better then I can.

    God bless always,

  5. John, write a piece & ask John Stott, Michael Green & Jim Packer to issue it under their names.
