This, from the Diocese of Lichfield, is the most important thing I have read about the Church of England this year:
Epiphany Message from the Bishop of Lichfield - 2008
Also, if you haven't read it yet, get Bob Jackson's The Road to Growth. I have just bought my second copy!
What a coincidence, Bob Jackson is an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Lichfield.

Thanks for the link, it was very encouraging to read, and great to see a Diocese that has really committed itself to mission and growth. I hope others follow suit!
ReplyDeleteoops, just saw the policy line: name - David Keen, location - Yeovil UK.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a good, positive message. I am glad to see Lay ministries mentioned. Every congregation has people with any of a number of gifts. It is good to develop these under the auspices of the Church. We have been building a Lay Pastoral Care team through the "Community of Hope" training program. Is this something that might concern clergy, or can they see this as a useful adjunct in their parishes?
